9/11 Update

Image
Today, we had a moment of silence in honor of the anniversary of September 11, 2001. My cousin, Joseph Patrick Henry, was a fireman with Ladder #21 and was killed on 9/11. There are so many personal stories that so many of us can share, but I thought I would share a link to an article about Joey published four years ago . 9/11 has had a lasting effect on my family as I am sure that it has on many of yours. Additionally, I wanted to share a video that was created by our students years ago to honor Brad Fetchet and Jack Dempsey, former NCHS students. As a reminder, New Canaan High School's annual Open House will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2016. Open House is co-sponsored by the school and the Parent Faculty Association (PFA). Dear NCHS Family, Welcome Back!!! New Canaan High School students came back to school with so much enthusiasm. The Class of 2022 was welcomed into the school and we look to the Class of 2019 to become positive leaders for other classes around the school. This week the administration and support staff met with each of the classes to welcome them back into the school.  We also visited all of the classrooms. Students seemed excited and ready to tackle the new year. We held class meetings for all grades and have addressed appropriateness of decorations on seniors’ cars. Please support us and take a look at your child’s car to ensure there is nothing inappropriate or offensive written on the car. While we love school spirit, we want to make sure that we do not offend anyone. New Canaan High School will continue to communicate regularly with all stakeholders through a variety of different mediums. We will still continue to publish our Weekly Update , and have an active twitter feed. In
