Happy Thanksgiving

Dear NCHS Family, Thanksgiving is my favorite time of the year. I love everything about it. Family, football, food, and most important to me is the ability to reflect on life. It is the perfect time of year when I have a chance to step back and think about how fortunate I am.  I am happy and healthy and I have a chance to work with a great staff and absolutely wonderful kids in a community that truly cherishes their schools. Sometimes, like all of us, I get so busy I do not think about the good fortune that I have been given. My hope for all of you is that you have the ability to spend time with family and friends this Thanksgiving and you enjoy every second of the time that you share together. The latest edition of one second everyday! Happy Thanksgiving! Mr. Egan Principal

Dear NCHS Family, Tri-State Visit: For the last three days we have hosted a team of educators from the following communities: Mamaroneck, Ridgefield, Briarcliff, Madison, Dobbs Ferry, Easton, Scarsdale, Southampton, Westport, Wilton, Weston and Scotch Plains-Fanwood, NJ. Most of their time was spent in schools observing classes, meeting with students, interviewing parents and talking with teachers and administrators. The team LOVED our students, and was very impressed by all that our educators are doing to help them to grow socially, emotionally and academically. We are immensely proud of New Canaan High School and are fully committed to continuous improvement.  We look forward to learning about the results of the visit.   Kids In Crisis: Samantha Wynn is our new Teen Talk Kids in Crisis Counselor.  A native New Yorker, Sam comes to us most recently from Delaware with a wealth of experience that has included working within government agencies, the Anti-Defamation League a

Dear NCHS Family, I hope that everyone had a great first quarter.  Grades are now available for viewing. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher. We are here to support and provide feedback. I hope that the second marking period is even better than the first.   Veteran’s Day: For Veterans Day, we conducted interviews for the Library of Congress Veterans History Project . This year, students interviewed Marine Colonel Nicholas J.Sheppard who served in WWII, Korea and through most of the Cold War, and Army Captain John Engel who served in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm and through much of the 1990’s. The interviews are being produced and recorded with the close cooperation of Mr. Staffaroni, several US History students and the TV Broadcasting program and took place this morning in the Wagner Room. Thank you to our Veterans that participated in the project, and thank you to all of the Veterans for your service. NCHS Athletics : The At
